bootanimation.zip problems?

I'm looking to change my boot animation I have a rooted huawei ascend mate and when I got into system/media the only zip file there is the charging animation one
so where's my bootanimation.zip file?

A few post down the OP goes into good detail about making your own boot animations. It's specific to the Acer Iconia, but should be good to use as a reference for your device.

Let us know how it goes and if you are able to get your own boot animation working.

that didn't work, I placed the bootanimation.zip in data/local but when I rebooted my phone the usual stock animation came up and for some reason when my phone rebooted my theme changed to a different one
