Bootloader unlocked?

If I buy from Google will the bootloader be unlockable right away?

Also, if I buy from Verizon do they allow the bootloader to be unlocked? I heard last year it was locked, but eventually it was unlockable.

It might be unlockable right off the bat. But custom recoveries and root may take a little bit longer. Developers have to make a working superSU app before any rooting can take place.
