Read about it on the g4, g5, & v10... Can we expect to encounter it on the v20 as well?
Why haven't they fixed it? Yeah, I know, dumb question.

I don't know. My V10 was perfect for about 11 months and then boom-bootloop. There was no way to get the phone working. This was my first LG so I'm willing to give them one last shot before dismissing them altogether for this one incident. I would be confident in keeping the V10 for another year but I can't trust it now unfortunately. I really hope LG has fixed these issues though.

Warranty replacement or wait for service?

No phone I've ever used had just stopped working unless I was using a software not intended for it or doing some XDA type stuff. That's unacceptable for any phone but I'm just waiting for that V20 announcement. I'll be watching on my 42" via HDMI out from my Surface Pro 2.

My G4 bootlooped after 15 months. From now on I'm doing yearly upgrades lol

I haven't heard of any major boot loop issues on the G5.
Yeah I think the G5 is immune because of the SD820. They were saying the bootloop issue was tied to use of the SD808 more so than an LG problem but I'm not entirely sure.

Pretty sure the boot loop issue was caused by faulty motherboards. That's what I read at least.

I thought I read an article that mentioned bootloops being at least a slight issue on both the G5 and V10 as well as the G4. Not to the same extent, but I guess enough to mention it.

Hopefully I'm wrong about that.

Hopefully, they have sorted it.

I keep hearing bootloops not only on the G4 but also on the V10 and (albeit to a slightly lesser extent), the G5.

LG has only addressed the issue publicly on the G4, but hasn't done so on the V10 and G5. The good news is that carriers are being pretty good with swapping and replacing these defective phones, but I think LG really has to instill consumer confidence with the V20.

They don't need to go all-out with a recall like Samsung did with the Note7 as that specific case was a safety issue. However, I'd still like them to launch some sort of "product update" campaign, as in a campaign where users with suspect units can have theirs exchanged for free, regardless of whether it's in warranty or not.

Makes sense. The G4 and the V10 have the 808 right?

Also, I've seen nothing about a 2015 Moto X boot loop, which was equipped with the 808.

Apparently, disabling the 2 "BIG" A57 cores on the 808 allows the phone to boot, but in a reduced power state.
