Bootloop?

I have never had this issue with my V10 on my LG G5 I now own a v20 and I don't see that happening

my Verizon v20 boot looped....it was 6 days old. I returned it to the store and got a replacement. I love this phone, but that really makes me nervous.

Oh no! I can definitely understand why you're nervous. There's not much you can do, unfortunately, other than always making sure that your important information is backed up.

It seems like the G3 missed this bootloop issue for the most part, but I have heard of G3 users getting them, as well.

To be honest, I have a G3 and though I would be interested in the V20, sometimes the possibility of a bootloop makes me nervous to stick with LG. Their products are amazing - hopefully they get this issue fixed, because it's a doozy and their phones deserve better than that! :(

I came from the G3 also...it's a nice upgrade...I waited and waited on this phone, so needless to say I was extremely disappointed when I had the issue. The Verizon folks were very helpful and didn't even question it, just got me a new device. Hopefully my issue was just a random failure. That's just the way my luck runs, lol.

You sure it was bootlooping?
it seems that some are referring to random reboots as bootlooping and they are two different issues.

I'm so glad your exchange worked out for you! I'm sure it was a nice upgrade! :) Hope your new phone works well for you!

Well, I tell ya guys I'm not a frequent poster, tho I've been a lurker for about 4 years. I had a g3 for over 2 years with no problems. I didn't get the g4 nor the v10, so I hadn't ever had a phone with a bootloop issue. I was excited for the v20 and figured whatever issue LG had with those previous models would be fixed. I got my v20, love the phone btw, and 6 days later, it became unresponsive, pulled the battery, came up to the LG splash screen, would go black, then back to the LG splash screen. I tried numerous battery pulls, but always the same result. Took back in to Verizon, they took one look and handed me a new phone. So, no, it wasn't random reboots or an app crashing. Now I'm pretty sure it was just my bad luck with a new device, that's the way it goes. But having said all that, I have no reason to come here and lie to you fine folks. In not trying to say there is a problem with all v20's, just with mine.

Ouch. That is exactly what my V10 did. Let's hope the issue is not as rampant as it was for the V10.

I'll keep my fingers crossed. Neither of my V20s has bootlooped and neither has my V10.

After 14 months, my V10 bootlooped, getting it repaired now, probably the last LG I'll ever get if they keep building them with fatal flaws....

Based on what you posted in the other thread, what you described is not a booloop. Get an exchange as its obviously defective

Read about it on the g4, g5, & v10... Can we expect to encounter it on the v20 as well?
Why haven't they fixed it? Yeah, I know, dumb question.

They did fixed it. Both the G4 and V10 were using the same parts so both suffered the same fate. I haven't seen credible sources for bootlooped G5s or V20s. Guys, make sure you're using a certified USB C cable to charge your phones. LG has stated this as well. Cheap brands will damage your phone, even a lot of tech nerds say this. LG screwed up with the G4/V10 just like Samsung did with the Note 7.

By the way, my V20 has not bootlooped. I'm smart with my devices and try not to let it reach high temps, which it rarely does anyway.

Edit: bootloop can be caused by a number of things IE trying to download and install a custom OS, water/smoke damage, interrupting an OS update, virus/malware, using a cheap USB charger, mishandling your phone, letting your phone reach extreme temperatures, etc. In rare cases it would be a defect. I never had any phone bootlooped on me except a few times when I tried to change the OS myself, the OS got corrupted.

IMHO great choice, I hope it lasts years
