Android Central Question

I bought a new phone 4 months ago. It has Android 11. Also it has 4/128 GB. I didn't install any android updates. When I look at the Storage, Android was at the beggining 17 GB and after 4 months is now 17.80 GB. That's about 800 MB increase. App size in Storage is 3,35 GB and that's all I need. I don't have any videos, music, games, large files... I mostly use my phone for web brosing with Chrome and watching YouTube. I've noticed that after browsing with Chrome or watching YouTube, App size in Storage increases because of app cache. But it is interesting that after browsing with Chrome or watching YouTube, Android OS size in Storage also increases. So for example if my Android size was 17,59 GB, after internet browsing it jumps to 17,65 GB. When I clear the cache of Chrome and YouTube, Android size gets back to previos value. It is also interesting that several days ago I forgot to turn off WiFi after internet browsing. I cleared the cache of Chrome and YouTube. Android size got back to 17,59 GB. WiFi stayed on during the night. When I woke up Android size increased from 17,59 GB to 17,80 GB. I again cleared the cache of Chrome and YouTube but Android size stayed 17,80 GB. I'm a little bit worried that Android size will continue to grow slowly and I can't do nothing about it.

Welcome to Android Central! System apps will build up some additional data over time but it won't get out of hand (especially if you have 128 GB of total internal storage).

System will be around 17gb on 128gb storage phone, are you looking at cache increases or app size? Cache will be build up over time . Which Android you have?

Welcome to AC!

If your OS system is changing it could be from a update that adds or sometimes lower system that's just what resources it takes to run the device. Apps are different thing if you can show screenshot what you mean is changing app size or cache size like in my screenshot, you can go to individual apps by long press it then tap info>storage View attachment 347529

Thank you for answering my post.

Here is a screenshot of my Storage. You can see the section System. After internet browsing it is now increased from 17,80 GB to 17,86 GB. When I clear the Chrome cache, Android OS size will go back to 17,80 GB. There are no installed updates to Android OS. Probably I have nothing to worry about since there is 128 GB of storage and the OS won't go wild in size :)
