Bought from Google, has Verizon system apps

That's not true, I don't have any of those apps. I would NEVER accept this. They would have to replace the phone for me. We were told the Verizon Bloatware could be uninstalled (not jut disabled). What's the point of buying from Google if they put carrier bloatware on the phone.

Please screenshot your Enabled Apps screen for us, after clicking Show System apps. Then we'll believe you.

That is weird. Bought mine from Best Buy (Verizon version) and I do not have those apps either.Screenshot_20161103-112501.jpg

As was mentioned, click the menu in the top right (the three dots) and select show system. You do have them. They are system apps.

You do have them. Click the menu and choose show system.

So you'd rather have carrier specific versions of the phone? These are system apps. Things needed for activation on a network and such.

Apple phones are are considered to not have any bloatware but you can bet there is stuff like this on them. It's not a big deal.

I stand corrected...

You'll also find an app called SprintDM that is for Sprint.

There is also a Project Fi app as well.
It's nice that Android allows you to see the system apps. I don't think you can do that on an iPhone and I'm sure there are specific apps buried in iOS for other carriers in there SIM free iPhones.

I see system apps for:

Project Fi
Sprint
Verizon

This is probably a non-issue.

I bought my Pixel at Verizon this week. It had three Verizon installed apps and I was able to uninstall all of them. So far I love this phone. I take a lot of pics and the free Google Drive is sweet. You long press on photos and the shortcut "Free Up Space" appears. Click it. Photos automatically knows what photos have been uploaded and gives you the option to delete the ones on your phone. One click and you are done. Great.

Drop down the system screen and swipe right and access Google's 24/7/365 support. Call or chat.

This phone is fast and has great battery life. The fast charge technology is awesome.

I like the fingerprint scanner. You can add multiple fingerprints. Works great with Lastpass to verify identify.

Best phone I have ever owned, no regrets at all.

I wouldn't fret.. first, these are rally low-level 'apps' that are more hooks to the OS for other stuff to run. They don't do anything unless there's something loaded on top of them. The Nexus 6 came with similar stuff... a low level thing from Verizon, some stuff from Sprint, etc.

Again, don't think of these on the same level as you getting VZ Navigator installed when you didn't want it... they don't do squat unless you pop in a Verizon SIM and start doing stuff with Verizon apps.... which any sane and reasonable person wouldn't do because Verizon apps were written by a team of inebriated howler monkeys.

--

Forgot to mention... the reason why they are there is that there are some things that Verizon will load on Pixels that are on their network that require some hooks into the system software. So by including this is the Pixel's core image, that means Google can avoid having to release and maintain different builds for each and every carrier. They tried that with the Nexus 6, it wasn't pretty.

The My Verizon app is pretty useful and they don't charge data for watching NFL games if you have NFL Mobile.

I have the same build number as you, and my phone didn't come with any Verizon apps preinstalled.
This thread is about some Verizon related system apps that every pixel has. You have to enable show system to see them.

These aren't apps you'll see in your launcher.

You guys are paying a premium price for an unlocked phone purchased OUTSIDE of a Verizon store.... how can you be ok with this?

I'd be livid based on principal alone.

If my Nexus 6P that I bought from Google came with T mobile Bloatware (system app or not, enabled or not is irrelevant), I'd be upset. The fact that the Pixel is almost double the price would make it even worse.

Ridiculous.

The nexus phones since the moto nexus 6 HAVE come with this stuff ;)

Are you ok with having a specific nexus build for each carrier? That is what would need to happen if you don't want any traces of this stuff.

You do have some of this stuff on your nexus 6p.

Your Nexus 6p also has Sprint "bloatware" on it called SprintDM.

Then you must be livid because your Nexus 6P does have this stuff installed.
I suggest you return your 6P immediately on principal alone.

It's better than paying a premium for an unlocked phone that won't work with any provider.

There certainly a lot of people looking for any excuse they can find to dislike the Pixel - lots of haters.
I also have a Z force - very few haters in that forum - just my observation.
