If they're going to block development on the NEW tablets, there's not much they can do about those of us who already have rooted tablets who aren't taking their updates. If you've already got one, you're good to go, it just depends on whether or not you're willing to keep up with the dev community updates as opposed to taking the stock B&N updates. Honestly though, I would say that it's not THAT big an issue, in that no matter what they come up with as far as anti-rooting measures, it will just be a matter of time before someone finds their way around them... look at phones like the Droid X, Motorola pretty much touted it as "unhackable" and it took all of what... a month until it was figured out how to get around the locked bootloader? I really think it's going to come down to whether you want something to tinker with, or something that updates are handed to you. Personal preference, I'm down with tinkering...
