I'm on my 2nd BRAND NEW unit as we speak. I do not know what the problem is. My Samsung Epic will not recognize the Innocell 3300mah. Everytime i connect the battery to my COMPATIBLE charger the phone never charges it. I left it on over night for about 10 hrs, & it still does not catch a charge or recognize. It's not my phone, because my Epic shows the stock battery everytime. Maybe i received (2) Dead Batteries? I really LOVE the idea of the extended battery, but having a horrible time trying to operate it. Also, the battery does NOT indicate the red light assuring that it's charging. Plz Help

I also know you can not take A mesmerize battery and charge it in the epic... Even though they are both galexy s phones and the battery looks the same but not the same part number....

Maybe they are but the right ones...

I've seen aftermarket batteries with a plastic tab, almost like tape, over the contacts for shipping. Failure to remove it, will keep the phone from being able to see/charge/etc... the battery, as if it's not even there. Worth taking a closer look at the contacts. If there's nothing on it, I would try to call the battery manufacturer and verify with them that the battery is for the Epic, and not a "galaxy s" battery.

If it's a "galaxy s" battery, but not Epic specific, the contacts may be in a different order. An example of this is the battery for the Blackberry Pearl 8130, and the Curve 8330 are physically the same size, but the +/- pins are backwards.

If you have access to a volt meter check the contacts and make sureits not a completely dead battery.
Li-Ion i think if they go comletely dead the charger might not recognize it as a battery.

I just got a 3500mAh aftermarket and so far its working great.

I don't know if this will help or not but, when i was reading reviews of after market high capacity batteries, many said they would not charge while installed in the phone. They either came with, or you had to purchase separately, a charger. I have one and it works great and means I can use one battery in my phone while another charges.

Thank you all for your time, however the battery still isn't functioning properly. My epic isn't recognizing it nor is the charge icon appearing. I have the multi-external charger that i used on the battery for 12 hrs+, still no luck.

Wondering why you haven't contacted the vendor for a fix? As other batteries work in your phone, it is quite obviously a defective battery or the wrong one.

If you have, what have they said?

krazykid212,

I sent you a PM on 6/24 - did you receive it? If not, PM me and I will see what I can do to help you. :)
