Brand new phone setting in fingerprin doesn't work

So I just received my Galaxy s7 edge today. In the settings, I tried to enable my fingerprints to unluck the screen, but it doesn't work. When I touch the home button with my finger, it just does nothing, I think normally you should get a screen with the % it is completed, but I don't get that all. It seems that the phone doesn't recognises my fingerprints or something..

don't understand what you mean? I go to settings --> fingerprints.

Indeed. And then it says you need to put a finger on the home screen button for a few times. But when I do that it does nothing.

You need to place your finger on the finger print sensor on the back of the phone. It is the black rectangular shaped thing next to the camera.
