Ok I am assuming you guys get this a lot but I have some basic questions and concerns about the HTC One and weather its for me.
My current handset is a really cheap Alcatel phone not worth $20 and have a current post paid account with At&t. I am seriously thinking about moving back to android after been left there Os in 2010. I was rocking a Samsung Intercept with android 2.1 mold but extremely disappointed with the performance back then. Now, I assume android has matured as a fully capable os and could very much so meet my needs.
The HTC One seems to be that phone that could do that but have concerns for the phone.
1. Where is the SIM card slot located and does it take the micro-sim on At&t or anywhere else?
2.. How is the performance of the software? Does it lag or flicker? Any bugs?
3. What is the difference of developer and unlocked models? Can I insert my At&t sim in one of those models?
4. Anybody with a prepaid mnvo like Net 10 or ST have any problems getting service? Like any Apn problems/lte etc.(Am kind of thing of switching to one of those)
5. Can you zoom while video recording on the phone?

Thanks.

Sunny first of all Welcome to Android Central. Yes many people ask the questions you are but that is what we are here for. First to make you welcome and second to answer your questions. I asked the Mods to move your Post/ Thread to the HTC One forum for better exposure and if they don't let me know and I will get your questions answered until they do.

No worries. :) Moved. Welcome to Android Central! The One forum is quite active, between Jaguarr and the rest of that forum you should get some great answers. ;)

It takes micro-sim. The slot is on the side. (top left facing screen http://images.anandtech.com/doci/6754/HTC One_Silver_3V.jpg)

Not much out there, but so far it looks great. Lag and flicker pretty much went away with ICS/JB versions of Android.
3. What is the difference of developer and unlocked models? Can I insert my At&t sim in one of those models?
Unlocked are not carrier locked, so any GSM SIM can be used. AT&T, TMo, Simple Talk, etc. Also, no carrier bloat software.
4. Anybody with a prepaid mnvo like Net 10 or ST have any problems getting service? Like any Apn problems/lte etc.(Am kind of thing of switching to one of those)
Not seen any pop up yet, seems like the radios cover just about all bands in some way shape or form. You can search for the preferred service in the forums and see what pops up.

The developer edition is SIM unlocked, which means it can be used with any carrier. The developer edition is also bootloader unlocked, which means the phones ROM can be modified.

There is an "unlocked" 32 GB model that is also SIM unlocked, but with a locked bootloader.

Tmobile uncarrier plan would be better than any mvno as you would be able to do visual voice, wifi calling and roam on partner networks. Also, the 2 year no interest loan for the phone is also very tempting.

Price wise tmobile is competitive but if you are on a family plan it is much more attractive.

Most of these have been answered, so here are my answers based on some hands-on use with it.

2. There isn't any real lag or flicker with the phone. There's a bit of stickiness that comes from how Sense scrolls in the app drawer, but in menus or homescreens, it's incredibly smooth. I did manage to slow down the phone a bit with Nova, but it's roughly the same as my Nexus 4, if not better.

3. The unlocked/developer models are essentially the AT&T phone but unlocked and without any carrier bloatware. So yes, your AT&T SIM will work just fine in there.

5. Yes, you can zoom while recording a video.

Think everythings been pretty much covered except to say that yes, you can zoom during video recording.

The HTC One has a quad core processor and 2gb of ram so it should be able to handle just about anything you can throw at it without stuttering.

I did not notice any lag at all when I was playing with one. It was incredibly smooth. I don't believe AT&T gives MVNOs access to LTE.

Unless you live in or travel to/through with any regularity one of the many, many areas where T-Mobile has garbage coverage.

Just a note about (3) and the comment about TMobile -- the developer edition does not have the 1700 mhz band, which means that for T-mobile users that want LTE and HSPA, it will ONLY work on T-Mobile if you are in an area that T-Mobile refarmed to the 1900mhz.

Okay I'm back. Sorry I kind of forgot of this place and was kind of preoccupied with other things but anyways I'm back. I just want to start off and say thanks to all that commented on this thread and specially to Jaguarr40 and Patrick Schroedl for taking time and directing this thread in the right direction. Much appreciated guys. I know this is late but just bare with me. Also I have to admit, I am still with the same crappy cheap phone and have not yet purchased the HTC One. I plan on purchasing some time this month and despite your the phone coming out over a month ago. However I still have a couple of questions.

For people that know, I heard that there was an inferior processor on the developer edition than what was on the carrier editions? I hope that is not true...

And thanks to the poster that pointed that att does not offer LTE to its mnvos. That would be a real let down after joining with them and finding out that they don't allow that. Tmobile is also not for me.

And what you say you can zoom while video recording? Oh yes, I most defiantly will be getting this phone! lol

Cheers
-Sunny
