Yeah but I have a mac I do have bootcamp but i don't want to go through all that could you email me if you find something like it for mac or just a non market app that lets you tether to other things like a ps3 or iPod without needing to install anything else

I just looked at it I don't want to have a custom rom or anything I just want to root have wifi tether and an easy way to install nandroid backup any help I wish they had dmupdater that would root and install nandroid for you cuz all the guides I find you have to like run all these commands and all this crap any ideas?

All what commands? DMUpdater is very basic, no commands, just download, and follow instructions in the app..very straightforward

Really how do you get to nandroid to make your own backup? and so your saying it makes one as soon as you root? so if you brick you can get back to where you were a soon as you rooted? If that's what your saying I will probably root right now

How it works is when you download and run the app, it walks you through the process, flashes the recovery image, does a nandroid backup, then walks you through the recovery mode to add/remove bloatware, install specific apps, then IF you want to recover your nandroid backup, boot in recovery and select Advanced Nandroid Restore, but if you just want to go back to complete stock, the app can also download the stock update so its like you never rooted your phone

You can try, but like I said earlier, idk if the wifi tethering will work unless you load a rom that supports it

And as far as rooting, its successfully rooted at step 14.

So as of 14 it roots you and gives you nandroid? I thought you had to install the sprecovery to get nandroid aka step 18 haha

rooting doesn't give you nandroid, flashing the recovery image does

Because 24 a is when it does the automatic nandroid so I think I was right if I want nandroid I need sprecovery and that's step 18?

But ill need to do the nandroid on myself so reboot and hold x to get to sprecovery and do a nandroid from there

step 18 is flashing the recovery image, and the next step takes you to SPRecovery to select the rom of choice. The only one you will have in that menu if I recall correctly is DroidMod 1.0
