is it possible to brick a fascinate beyond repair???? had the phone rooted since i got it .... flashed superclean and had the stupid fast kernal.... yesterday decided to be bold and installed voodoo lagfix which was awesome but i lost the vibrate function and was lead to believe it was due to a mismatched rom kernal and baseband so i scoured the forums and found what i though was a newer baseband that i could just flash over.... just prior i went into cwm and disabled voodoo then used astro file manager to delete the voodoo folder then went back into cwm and flashed over the newer baseband and then bricked my phone ......now it just reboots into cwm recovery v2.5.1.2 voodoo lagfix and shows an eror saying

E: Missing bitmap progress_empty (code -1)
E: Missing bitmap progress_fill (code -1)

tried restoring from my last nandroid... nothing
tried flashing the geknik kernal ... nothing
tried a factory reset/wipe .... nothing
tried installing stock md5 via odin ..... nothing
tried installing stock kernal via odin ... nothing

so i guess my real question is can you revive a bricked phone??? if so can some one help me otherwise im prolly gonna have to switch back to my old bb storm and buy a new phone

Even though you erased the voodoo kernel I believe you need to disable it through adb. Could be wrong on this but I spent hours last night trying to get my phone back up and running after a death loop. Anyone else have any ideas? I wish I could just get back to stock.

what is adb exactly???? i see posts that say i need to enter a command in adb and got no idea what it means

adb, android debug bridge,,,,,its like plugging in your phone and putting it in DOS mode if you are looking for a computer equivalant

My experience with voodoo is that you must leave the voodoo folder with the disable_voodoo file on your sd card until you flash over a new kernal. Otherwise it just reinstalls it as soon as you reboot.

Ok so im not an expert and you should probably consult with chris kerrigan or ragnarokx..

here is what i found in xda forums to get you back to stock,,, but please dont do it unless you feel confident cause i have never tried.

Odin Restore files to get you to stock - xda-developers

probably best you consult with a moderator

Sounds like he already tried that.

i tried to flash the di01 baseband since apparently i was still running the dh12 baseband and i think i may have found a messed up file when i tried that since apparently it didnt play nice..... and i have tried all those ways to restore to stock that was in those links from xda and nothing seems to be working for me ...... ohh well guess its time to go buy a new fascinate anyways
