I m stuck at the fix of the usb now :( its completes but it says at the end FAILED< status read failed<too many links>>
finished.

Copy and past the command prompt info from where you connected to adb. Also post the answers to the questions in my pm here. Like I said in the pm. I am out of town on crappy roaming service. This way others can help some too.

Evo 4g Bricked USB

It starts to read the pc36img but then goes to the main page. doesnt let me choose to update or not. Im stuck at 1.47. I bricked it last night and lost sd card and usb. I got the sd card working but not the usb. It need me to use terminal and issue su command but permission denied. I made the mistake of going back to stock and updating to the newest ota. I was thinking the ota update would fix my sd card but it didnt. I have clockworks mod but it wont work since im not rooted. I can only charge when the phones off and cant use the usb cable to connect to the computer and view files and use adb. I can get into the phone via fastboot but nothing else. My computer does beep when I plug it in but nothing else.

Thanks

Same issue here. Cannot install Clockwork Mod. SD card fixed but USB not. Was rooted using Toast method then tried flashing to Cyanogen. Now cannot get into recovery or flash new recovery.

I have the same issue. I put koush's update.zip and RvU 1.3.2.zip on the sdcard and booted into recovery hit the vol up and power. I get
Android system recovery <2e>
and an error message
Can't open /cache/recovery/command

I Wipe data/factory reset the wipe cache partition

I apply sdcard:update.zip

then I get error
Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 or /dev/block/mmcblk0

Can't find /sdcard/updage.zip

Any help?

Thanks for everything so far.

Well I think I bricked my HTC Evo 4G as well. I performed the revoked root on it and all seemed well, then I setup the phone on a different carrier besides Sprint. I was using it (just cell and text) and wanted Data, so I started messing with the back office settings. Well, it was late, or should I say early in the morning and I did a factory reset. As soon as I did it I was like "NOOOOO". Well it rebooted, the HTC EVO 4G Splash came up(Like normal), and then when the screen goes blank to show where it normally shows Sprint's splash, it stays blank and vibrates like 4 times. Is this situation reversible????

Not to rain on anyone's parade, but I want to let you guys know to be prepared to have to send this back in. :( I worked for almost two days straight trying to get my Evo USB charging fixed and was never able to. I was able to fix the SD card issue, but the USB charging was never able to get resolved.

Again, I don't want to disappoint anyone, I just want to warn you guys that you might have to swap out your phone if none of the methods come through and work. Especially if your hboot is at 2.02+ and you followed the sticky method.

This thread is outdated. Started back in June. Doubt this process will apply to the newer HBoot or newer model Evo's. If you run into this issue and you can't unroot and run the RUU then youre probably dead in the water. Need to send it in...

I'm just sayin...

The instructions were updated on XDA as of September 29th. How that relates to the newest Hboots and updates I'm not sure, but it's only two months old so it might still have some relevance.

BUT, the thread died over there.
