Bricked my phone while trying to Flash

Congratulations, Porco, the HTC One is a beautiful gadget. Don't be hesitant about rooting because it's fairly easy if you follow a good guide, don't let your experience with the knock-off device bring you down. Haha!

Lol how did you manage to get your money back

I went to the sellers house, and demanded a refund. When he refused, I threatened to call the police for false advertising, (bull crap, I know, but I sounded super freaking official and such lol) and he relented and gave me my money back. In not about to throw out 420 bucks on a phone that barely costs 100. You freaking kidding me? Lol

Perhaps he bought it off the seller in person rather than on the internet so that's how. I am glad you were able to do so, Chris, I probably wouldn't have done it because there wouldn't have been a contractual obligation between us and I know the law wouldn't have helped me.

As Tarek mentioned, I bought it off of him in person. He was a friend of a friend's brother, etc.. That a buddy told me sold cheap feature phones.

Shame on me for not turning on the phone when I was at his house. The thing looked EXACTLY like an S4,.. Sensors and everything. Hell, it even fit perfectly in the case I bought for it!

Yeah, I just didn't want to let him swindle me out of that large of a sum of money. I work hard for my dollars and cents, so I will not be satisfied knowing he got more money than he deserved.

I bought a used Verizon Motorola Droid 2 Global and took it on a trip to Peru, installed a local GSM chip and it worked fine, HOWEVER when I returned to California, I tried my AT&T SIM (Go Phone Pre-Pay) and no connection. AT&T store tried and told me Verizon had it locked. This will come as no surprise to most of you and I read about that before I bought it. It is a neat phone and I like the slider QWRTY keyboard but I have absolutely no intention of ever using it with Verizon, and I have a lighter cheaper new dual SIM phone I use for Peru. Anyone interested in "rooting" this phone for me if I send it to you? Otherwise, I will sell it to someone in Peru when I return in September as it works fine there.

Another question: Is there a Global, open to US carriers, dual SIM 3G/4G phone with physical QWRTY keyboard that I can buy? Thanks for your input. Russ
