Brightness baseline

I use the toggle all together. When I'm in a pitch black room I toggle it all the way off. If I need to just bump it a lil bit I take it to 50%. And when I'm outside I change it to 100%. Otherwise it stays at 40%

I must have a special phone because I find that set at 65% with auto on I can go from inside a dark room to the bright Florida sunshine and I never have to manually adjust the brightness to see the screen.

I just can figure out why people are having such difficulties with the screen brightness. Maybe it is because this is my first smartphone from a 5 year old upgrade and I am used to a dark screen.....

I'm at 50%. I had auto on for a bit but noticed a flickering type effect on the screen.

I might need to change mine. I tried to set it the same way I set my iPhone by turning off auto, going into a pitch black room and setting the brightness to 0 and then switching on auto. Having the baseline at 0 keeps my screen too dark overall I think.

I don't know if something changed during the Kit Kat upgrade. I used to have to set mine at around 60% with auto brightness when I first got it. However, lately I've found that turning it down to 20% with auto brightness is still legible.

Switched mine to 30% and auto

Have brightness widget on home screen, set to 10%. Almost invisible outdoors, but easily cranked up. Seldom more than 20% indoors.
