Brightness issues after update

I can't keep the brightness up.

I have my screen set to 2/3rds brightness (with automatic adjustment turned off). Every time my screen goes dim (or gets locked), it comes back at a much dimmer brightness than it should be. My best guess was about 1/3 (or around the default brightness if you use auto adjust). If I go into my brightness settings and just tap where the level indicator is, the phone brightens up to where it should be until the next time I lock the phone or it goes to sleep - where the same thing will happen.

Thought it may have been the new case I had covering up the sensor a little, so I removed and had the same issue. This is a big issue for me - could someone see if it's just my phone or if they're having the same problems?

The powersave option is turned off too. Help.

I don't have this issue but I use a Brightness Widget to set my default brightness. Maybe that will help you out.

Ok - is there something wrong with my phone? ...

I added the power option widget to my homescreen. It has a brightness controller with 3 settings (low, med, high). If I set the widget to high (full brightness), lock my phone and then unlock my phone, the widget shows like it's on the the full brightness, but my phone is on the medium setting visually. Please help. Does anyone else have this issue?

No question is silly right now - What is happening doesn't make sense at all.

I do not have auto brightness enabled - nor do I have the power save on (but I'm not sure that affects it at all until it reaches around 5% battery power).

So no one else is having this issue? Any other suggestions? I'll take anything - I hate the dimmness of autobrightness and I want to be able to utilize the sweet-ness of my screen. Thanks in advance.

I remember having this issue occasionally even on DL01, but it wasn't in the manner which you are describing. I haven't noticed it recently though. My only recommendation would be to do a factory reset or re-flash DL09. Sorry that's all I have =\

What all does a factory reset jack up? I have paid for easy tether, and I'd like to try to keep everything as much of the same as possible. Also - what all is defaulted with these phones to save to the phone and save to the card, because I was blown away when I've only had the phone for about a month and my 2gb internal memory is already down to 1.36gb. Thanks in advance. May be what I need to do. I just need to figure out what all I'm going to lose or have to change back.

Assuming you bought Easy Tether through the market, you won't lose that. The Market saves your purchases to your Google account, so all you'll have to do is re-download/install it after a reset (you won't have to pay for it again). Anything on your SD card will be safe, as resetting only wipes what's on the devices internal memory.
