Brightness problem

When I increase the brightness on the mobile from 3 / 10 of the bar the screen turns off and does not respond properly. What could be wrong? My mobile is 2018 huawei p20

Maybe some type of screen protection, what about at 9? Can try in safe mode if this still happening. In automatic brightness mode do you see it changing in various environment?
