AC Question
On of my toddlers managed to completely reset a Verizon LG G4 by messing on the lock screen, something that USED to be prevented by a "life is good" box that would pop up to ensure a human of sufficient skill was in control of the phone. A recent update apparently did away with that -- without my knowledge! -- and instead a box pops up that says the phone will be wiped after five more failed attempts, and the box is trivially dismissed by hitting "OK". Then, as promised, five more failures reset everything, including the SD card. Doubly annoying since "restore" doesn't actually restore everything, even when you have recent backups.
This auto-wipe is apparently an old feature of base Android that has been discussed on this forum in the past, with similar complaints of kids or even pocket inputs wiping the phone. Mitigations suggested in the thread that I found do not apparently exist on my phone, which is Android 6.0 at patch level 2016-09-01; build number MRA58K.

Apparently the "life is good" thing was something LG added to deal with this very problem, but then it got removed in a recent update. How can I bring it back?
Thank you for looking at this.
