Broken headphone jack

Recently i dropped my phone into ketchup.....yikes. Everything works fine except the headphone jack. It wont detect the headphones have been plugged in. Any way to solve this? And no, rubbing alcohol is not a option.

update- after doing a reset, the phone thinks the headphones are plugged in when they arent.
