When using a browser on my new Android tablet (Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE) I'd like the browser to prompt for a download location whenever I down a file, as opposed to the files going to a designated folder (Downloads being the default).

Is this possible?

Firefox won't do it, Chrome SHOULD do it but despite setting to On the option: 'ask where to save files' it still won't prompt for a download location, the files automatically go to Downloads.

Is there a way to do this, maybe even with another browser?

Did you accidentally check "Don't show again" in the download prompt?

I believe that option is only to decide whether to download something to Internal Storage vs the SD card. Either one will still require the file to be initially downloaded to a default directory (the /Download directory on either Internal Storage or the SD card). You'd have to manually move the file afterwards to your directory of choice.

(I tested this on my Lenovo Tab M9 with an SD card inserted.)

I see, thanks!

Is there ANY Android browser which will allow me to select a download folder each time I download a file? Seems a bit strange that this apparently isn't so easy to do.
