Maybe there is another thread of this but I couldn't find it...is there a way on the bionic to prevent the browser from loading the mobile versions of websites?

I would download another browser. The native browser cannot show the full version of the site until itc comes out.

I would recommend opera or dolphin browsers.

Quick workaround:

On the browser, type in: about:debug

Hit the menu > more > settings > ua string > choose desktop.

I don't know why they didn't include that option in the settings tab......I forgot which old android phone I had that had that option.

When I tried that I didn't get any results. Maybe I am doing something wrong. I managed to get the javascript console to show up. When I tried to hit the menu I didn't see the settings you were talking about.

I didn't get any results with the "about:debug" step either but found that if I simply opened the stock browser and followed steps after that first step full versions of websites now show up. The UA String option is at the very bottom of the "settings" page.

well if the javascript console is showing at the top....it means it should show you the rest of the options......just make sure after typing after:debug that you go hit menu (while on browswer still) settings > all the way down (ua string) > desktop.

And yes, after you type in about:debug....nothing seems to happen....but the new options are now available.

Just use Dolphin Browser HD. There's a plugin that gives you a button to toggle back and forth
