browser stays in mobile view

I use dolphin hd and set it for desktop and it stays there.

Try going to Samsung.com and see if you are redirected to the mobile site. Also, go to forums.tipb.com, where I haven't gotten around to removing the JS code that nags you to try Tapatalk. If it's truly working 100%, that should never happen.

Yeah Samsung's website does the same thing as Gizmodo, regardless of the user agent setting (I'm using Dolphin HD). That's a little annoying, but at least they have a button to show the full site. I hate sites that throw you to mobile with no option for the full site.
