Browser with real tabs?

I had been using Dolphin browser for years only because it had "real" tabs that you can switch between just by tapping the tab marker at the top of the screen, just like you would on a regular desktop browser.

Recently it began crashing every time I tried to use it. I don't know what was causing the crashing, but I tried to uninstall it and re-install it. Well, I guess the latest version has done away with the old style tabs. Now Dolphin browser is like all other mobile browsers in that it has a crappy way to navigate between tabs.

Does anyone know of another mobile browser that uses tabs at the top of the screen like a desktop browser?

Microsoft edge for mobile has tabs. Although it's at the bottom.

Check it out and let me know

Thanks for the tip. In the Google Play App Store there is only a preview. It says that the app is still in development and may not be stable. I'll still give it a shot.

Ah, well, I just tried it out and I think you may have misunderstood what I meant.

The Edge browser does tabs just like all other mobile browsers. And I hate it.

O well. It was worth a shot.

In Samsung Browser and Chrome you can swipe the address bar left/ right to switch between tabs. Not the same but also convenient.

Not sure if they changed it, Boat Browser used to have real tabs. I dumped it for another browser years ago though.

Yes, I've been using the stock browser. Swiping is ok. I guess I can get used to it. I'd rather have tabs at the top, but I guess I can't have everything I want.

The main problem is that you have to swipe through a few screens instead of just clicking on the tab at the top. Oh well. It's better than clicking the tab button and being brought to the tab page and picking the tab you want.

Firefox doesn't meet your requirements?

It looks like what I want, but it's a fake. When you press the "tab" thing at the top, it just shows you your tabs on a separate page. I want real tabs at the top like a desktop browser. I don't get why there are no mobile browsers that do this anymore.

I am a fellow dolphin user and suddenly got the same unknown crashes. I signed up just to tell you to disable the in built ad blocker and dolphin will start working again. Here's hoping they resolve soon enough.

I hear you. On tablets, Firefox uses tab properly. But on phones it acts the way you describe. I too wish Firefox would do tabs properly.

Thanks!

Thanks!! That seems to have worked for me, appreciate you taking the time to sign up and pass that on. Ads are annoying on some sites so hoping the can fix it, but good to know that I can at least avoid the crashes while they fix it.

Dolphins still has it! (hidden of course)

Me too. But on a new phone it did not work that way anymore too. But you can get it back: Fisrst step is to get side bar swipping back, you find it under advanced settings. Then you can swipe from right and get the control panel. Here you can choose "classic tabs"!
(This worked for version 12.0.11)
