Browsing with Chrome one-handed on XL

Is there an easy way to browse websites with a single hand with Chrome on the pixel XL?

Coming from a Samsung where the back button was on the right side of the phone it was easier.

To reach Bookmarks at the top is impossible with left hand and reaching back button is impossible with right hand.

I'd like to perhaps change the phones soft buttons order, or maybe have Chrome put the menu bar on the bottom if this is possible?

Install "Swiftly Switch" from playstore. Set one of the quick actions to go back. Set the bottom to pull notification down. Select the little lightening bolt so that the buttons engage immediately upon the swipe to them.
Easily the best app i've ever installed, because I also hated the long reach to drag down, and the back button on the other side.

You can move the address bar to the bottom using the instructions in the link. I love it this way and I'm not sure why it isn't default. Way easier access to the bookmarks also.

Curiously, when I navigate to chrome:\\flags as described in the above link, I do not immediately see the Chrome Option. In fact, I see a few dozen options and then I can scroll through an exceedingly long but totally blank page.

If I use the search tool to find Chrome Home, it pops up and shows "Default"

To change it, you have to set it to Enabled and then hit the Relaunch button at the bottom of the page. But, as noted under the Chrome Home flag option, you must restart the browser *twice* for the change to take effect. The only way I found to get that second restart is to go to Settings -> Apps & Notifications -> Chrome and then Force Stop.

So, after Relaunch and then Force Stop, Chrome now opens with the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen.

But, it is already driving me crazy. Muscle/eye memory keeps focusing my attention at the top of the screen.

I think I will quickly return to the default location. :)

The pro version has edge 2 enabled where as the free version only has right side of the screen which kinda defeats using the left hand unless I'm doing it wrong? *Edit, I get it. You just use right hand for everything...

The flags thing is neat, it moved my bookmarks to a swipe up action (this might be good because I still couldn't reach the 3 dot menu even on the bottom).

You can set the trigger bar to any side of the phone, or top or bottom. Increase its size. Change its color. Make it invisible. All in free version.
I think the Pro version gives you the 2nd bar.

I set mine up like this. Use those 2 middle circles for the back button. On the outer button, turn its lightening bolt on so it triggers immediately when touched. Same for the swipe down circle on bottom. This will make your phone fly! So much easier to use this phone now.

This is great stuff, I'm faster than ever before.

Anyone know a quick way to scroll to top of page or pinch zoom with a single finger?

If you want to get even faster, I highly recommend this. Go into Developer Options in Android settings. Change the 3 settings below to .5x. The phone absolutely flies with this.

to enable developer options, go to About Phone and click build number 7 times.
