Here's my scenario:
I have my (rooted/unlocked, but I don't think it matters here) Nexus 5 connected to my car's Bluetooth. In the background I have PowerAmp running to play music through the car speakers, and in the foreground I have Waze running. Prior to 4.4.3, I had no problem using my car's controls to control PowerAmp, while leaving Waze running as I drive. Since the 4.4.3 upgrade, I can no longer control music through my car's controls unless the audio player is in the foreground. I tested this with multiple audio players running in the background with other programs (other than Waze) running in the foreground. Seems that I can only use BT controls when the audio program is running in the foreground. Anyone else notice this?
