Bug, display doesn't turn off automatically

I have set my display to turn off after 15 seconds but it stays on until I manually press the power button.

I am on the December Patch on my international unlocked Exynos Note 9 running M1AJQ.N960FXXS2ARL4

Any ides what might be going on?

is this when you're still holding it or once you've set it down ? I know there is a setting to keep the screen on if you're holding it.

Under "Advanced Features", if "Smart Stay" is "ON", it will keep the screen active as long as you are looking at it... that's another possibility.

yeah I do have Smart Stay on but the thing is the phone's screen doesn't switch off even if it's laying flat like I'm not even looking at it.

Oddly enough it didn't do it again in the past 6 hours so I'll see if it happens again.

Mine stays on, for apparently no reason sometimes, past the 2 minute screen timeout that is set.
Even setting on my dresser.
IDK why.

check your display screen time mine is 30 seconds.
and check lock screen time is 5 seconds it will lock with screen off .
