Built in screen protector?

I would say yes as it adds extra In-Transit protection and add a note with the phone advising the original screen protector is still fitted.

Especially if the plastic protector is marked up.

At the end of the day Samsung know people remove these to fit their own choice of Glass or plastic options.

Thank you! I wound up doing just that. I packed up my S10 and put in a note saying that the factory screen protector was still on the phone since I only owned it for 7 weeks. :)

Re: scratches? Built in screen protector?

Have any of you had an issue with the built in protector scratching really easily? I have only had my phone less than a week and i noticed a pretty large scratch today...hoping it did not go through it to the screen... anyone had this happen?? Don't want to take it off to see as I don't have a replacement protector.:/

The reasons why I and perhaps other people put the glass option onto the phone I believe are...

Feels a better user experience using a glass screen protector.

Offers up more protection from drops.

The plastic protector may eventually have marks from the S-Pen.

The plastic protector is more prone to marks and scratches.

Just my opinion.

There are several reports indicating that due to the glue used to attach the Whitestone, screens actually crack faster than without. As the clue hardens, it increases pressure on the screen, making it crack more easily. Just read some of the comments on the note 10+ Whitestone review on YouTube.

Yup.... It has become scratched

Re: scratches? Built in screen protector?

The actual screen has or just the protector that came on it?

I find that extremely hard to believe. How can they prove it was because of the glue? Pressure on the screen does not increase because the glue hardens. The glue is still pliable upon removal. I've dropped my phone several times and only the screen protector has cracked.

Re: scratches? Built in screen protector?

yep, mine too, almost immediately. About a 1" scratch.

Best... Steve

I’ve never cracked a phone screen, with or without a screen protector. But it’s really not that far fetched. The glue sightly retracts as it dries, pulling on the glass. I’ve had a window crack after applying a glued on glass breach sensor once

That's something new I've not heard of before.

As said I find this unlikely and not had that issue from any of the Whitestone Dome I've used.

Can you please link to the reviews you seen and read please ?

I'm leaving the factory installed protector on as long as possible. So far, I haven't had any issues *knock on wood* and feel no need to pull it off.

"I used whitestone first on my note 8. and to be honest i drop my phone more then any 2 pep put together. and every time i cracked the whitestone glass it also cracked my screen. so i did this probably 5 times on my note 8 then note 9 came out and i repeated this with same outcome. but more but the last 4 months of having my note 9 before i got note 10 plus i didn't use no screen protector. and i still dropped my phone ALOT. but to my surprise my screen never broke. So note 10 will go with out.i wonder if others had same experience."

def not the first time I'm reading similar accounts.

I'm just really not sure why people praise that screen protector so frequently in these forums. Lots of people have issues with the FPS after applying this one, they cost an arm and a leg. I wonder how many here praising these are actually Whitestone employees, or get "sponsored" to promote them.

The glue cures to adhere to the screen but it doesn't harden to the point it could exert pressure to cause a screen crack

Your experience in dropping devices with or without a protector is not scientific. Screens breaking depend on how they land and what they hit.

People praise the Whitestone because they like it not because they are Whitestone employees. I review several products in the forums and i present the good and the bad aspects of any product I review.

Sorry to hear that. Did it scratch easily, though? Or are you unaware how it happened?

Mine hasn't scratched in the 16 days I've been using it. This is the first time I've tried a screen protector. None of my previous phones ended up with scratched or cracked screens.

Me too. No scratches. Been very careful with it though.
