Bumper or naked!?

Just got my official lg bumper for nexus 4. And it's ok, but makes nexus 4 much bigger. It's since time now, so what are your opinion so far? For us who does not drop phone, do we need protection!?

I was naked for around 3 months, then picked up a used official bumper on line, took a few days to get used to it but I don't really notice it.

The main reason for me getting one was not in case I dropped it but simply to raise the back of the phone so it doesn't touch when I place it down on a flat surface. i did have a screen protector but that meant the crystal effect on the back wasn't quite as visible.

I think the bumper case also gives the buttons a little more feedback as well.

I know in that sense its not much but for me it brought no benefit. It looks very nice on the phone but it adds a few mm all around the phone making it bigger, as the case sits on top of the buttons instead of around them. Actually made my phone looks massive compared to an s3.

I had the official bumper on and it looks nice and raises the back off tables etc. But then I took it off to clean my phone. I forgot how good this phone feels bare. So now I am running it bare.

Also, LG/Google have provided some help with the newer N4's for the issue of laying the phone down. They have incorporated 4 little feet or nipples into the back to raise it up.Did Google And LG Silently (And Subtly) Update The Nexus 4's Design?

I thought I had gotten used to the bumper, but then I took it off after about 2 months and it made me realize how hilariously large it makes the phone feel. I have a Seidio active case that I use when I'm out at a bar or travelling or camping or whatever that makes the phone feel thinner than it does with the bumper.

To protect the back I have one of the dbrand skins on. Looks gorgeous and I don't worry about how the glass back look snow.

Naked, but I use a leather sleeve when carrying it around in my pocket. It's the perfect setup, in my opinion.

I had the Poetic bumper from day one. Then a co-worker got her Nexus 4 and it made me realize what a beautiful beast I had in my hands. I gave her the bumper and I've been naked every since.

I have a bumper for the same reason. I wanted to keep the back from touching tabletops when I set it down. I've had it on since day 1, so I haven't had the chance to feel how much smaller the phone is without it. I think the buttons make it worth it, though. They're much easier to push with the bumper. I've only ever dropped a phone when I left it in my lap in the car and forgot when I got out, so that wasn't really my main concern. But I do tend to bump it against the wall sometimes if I'm holding it at my side or carrying it around the house, so the bumper was perfect for that.

Coming from an iPhone4, the Nexus already felt huge when I got it, so adding the bumper wasn't a noticeable difference for me.

I was using a bumper case and I would take out my phone and just admire how much better it felt in my hands, especially with the tactile feedback from the buttons. I ended up just getting a dbrand cover for the back and dropped the bumper. I am loving it so far, but I haven't dropped it.

I'm naked although I'm finding that the smooth surface slides all over the place.

So I might put a film screen protector on the backside just to give it some traction!

Years ago I was into rollerblading (inline skating if you want to be anal about it) and tried out the half-pipe on Chelsea Piers. With it I rented a helmet. On one of my runs I went halfway up and fell straight back down. That helmet paid for itself when my skull bounced off of the bottom of that half-pipe and I realized it as I stared up at the sky.

The helmet made my head look larger and I definitely couldn't fit it in my pocket?haha, smartphone joke?but it was an investment that paid off with one incident.

Same thing here... Bumper makes it a bit too big. And case kills all the beauty of the phone, but still I am but ocd for my devices, so no help for me

I recently got a small crack on the bottom left, no screen space effected but still a crack, that was enough for me to go back to a case, but I don't use the bumper, just a plastic shell.

True, but I can buy a new smartphone! Can't buy a new head! Plus, breaking my current phone is the only way I can convince my wife I need a new one
