Since I got the new Pie update I have made 3 butt dials after not doing a butt dial for years. I think normally to someone I just text or called, embarrassing if it is a client.

It seems my phone is turning on in my pocket. How do I fix this?

Also, sometimes when my phone is charging it makes a swishing noise when I pick it up and put it down.

Also, when I send a message, my phone chimes like when I receive a message. I turned off the setting in messages to make sound on send but is still makes sound.

I hate Pie. Actually I love Pie, the kind I eat - software, not so much.

If it were me I'd just bite the bullet and do a reset back to fresh. To much weirdness going on.

Mine only does it when the phone is hot, as I have found on a long hike 90-100+ deg.

Pie allows you to lock the phone. Hold the power button and you'll see an option to "lockdown"

This eliminates any pocket dialing. This forces you to use your 4 dig code to unlcok the phone back to normal use.

I've not had inadvertent dialing since I've made it a habit to tap the ON/OFF button before pocketing. That habit can also save a bit of battery too.

I've experienced this as well. Pulled my phone out of my pocket the other day and I had a screen full of numbers that had been typed into the dialer.

Mine does not have the same option. Long press of power just gives me restart, off and screenshot.

Thinking nine must have been the smart Lock feature. Have turned that off for now and will see what happens.

Where is the smart lock option in settings? I searched and it does not come up.

I believe I turn it off before pocketing, maybe not, but this did not start happening until pie.

I have 2 S9s. Mine hasn't done the butt dial but, since the last software update (2/2019), my wife's fone has been self-dialing a lot. Dialed my fone 5 or 6 times in a row a few minutes apart while the fone was in her purse. Today dialed someone she hasn't called for months while the fone was in the pocket of the treadmill in the gym.
I've looked for some sort of setting that is different on her fone than on mine and found nothing.
Both fones have wallet type cases and have not done any butt dialing until this last update.
