Button issues on my Fascinate.

I also have the phantom back button presses. It's been happening for the past 2 or 3 weeks and is driving me crazy. Based on my web searches, this issue has existed since at least 2010! I'm on a Samsung Mesmerize (which is US Cellular's version of the SCH-I500). My phone is not - not had it ever been - rooted. The build number is I20, kernel is 2.6.35.7, and firmware is 2.3.5. HELP!!!

Ditto. Do a search for phantom soft keys and you will find many instances of this issue. A main reason for my finally giving up on the Fascinate.
