Buy then terminate contract to save money...

I am wondering if anyone has done this or is it ok to do:

1. Buy tmobile GN2 on contract, $300 (maybe try to find it cheaper, I think walmart gives out $100 gift cards w/contract)
2. Cancel contract, $200 fee
3. Start t-mobile prepaid $30/month plan with the GN2

Would this work ok? Better then paying $700 contract-free (just saw t-mobile offering it for $649).

I tried this once with AT&T. You have to return the phone otherwise they charge you the full retail price!

I just called cs today and I was told my etf is $200 after 29 days of service. I will cancel it tonight and pay the etf

I like the phone but tmo or simple mobile have too many call drops in my area.

Beside the ETF from T-Moblie, there is also an ETF from Walmart of $400.00 for a smartphone, should you drop your T-Mobile plan before 180 days.

TERMS OF PURCHASE
