Buyers Remorse?

Now that I've figured out some more stuff, I am pretty happy with the S22 and don't exactly have buyers remorse, but I also don't get why people want Samsung phones in the first place. Compared to my old OnePlus 5T, this one lacks so many niceties in the OS (I can't believe the status bar icons are NOT interactive!), and the battery life is decidedly average.

Thinking of dumping it for OnePlus 10 Pro whenever that comes out.

Oxygen OS is an awesome experience from what I've heard. I'd love to try a OP phone in the future.

It is amazing! Though from what I've seen, the Chinese version of OnePlus 10 Pro no longer has it, but has Oppo's "ColorOS" instead, which I'm unfamiliar with. Hoping that OxygenOS spilled over to it, or that the non-Chinese versions get OxygenOS.

It's just preference, I personally don't see the value in one plus phones at the moment. Their software is getting worse IMO and updates are slower than Samsung, cost is more and you can get Samsung phones at that price almost. At least Pixels have cameras going for them, I honestly don't see One plus excelling in anything. Before they were great for the price they were charging, but once they reached closer to Samsung, iPhone pricing then it's not that much attractive.

At the end pretty much every phone is great nowadays and it'll probably come down to preference and what you like.
Ultra fast wired and wireless charging. That's about it, but they are out pricing themselves especially when it comes to trades. The benefits of OnePlus use to be reasonable pricing but now they are pricing themselves like the other high end phone manufacturers without the great brand recognition and most important mass marketing. The fact that the 10 Pro hasn't been released in the states even though it was announced way before the S22 makes it a none starter.

OnePlus lost it's appeal to me ...headed in the wrong direction for awhile now ..

Don't sit on that one plus 10, it breaks in half like a Hershey Bar.

Maybe, but on my old 5T, the software was just spectacular. A dream to use compared to all other flavors of Android that I've tried. I've seen a lot of criticism of 9 and 9 Pro though, especially that OxygenOS 12 was full of bugs.

I see that OP10Pro will use Oxygen OS 12.1, so hopefully it will be good

Oh yeah you were using it when good ...it's why I say it's going in wrong direction and it's a shame ..

Ok, I just returned the S22 Ultra to Samsung. I've decided to go with the S22 Plus instead. (March 15) delivery. I realized once again, just how unimportant the S pen is to me. I always think I'm going to start using it, but nope.
Same here. S22+ arrived today.

If major carriers in the US consistently offered One+ devices more would be sold. The major carriers is how most people get their phones. ...perhaps I'm mistaken. That said, I love my Note 22 Ultra.

T-Mobile sells OnePlus phones.

I did the same. My first Ultra and was excited to try it. Was not thrilled with the battery life but from what I have been reading, most likely would have gotten better. It felt like a brick to me and was actually giving me cramps in my hand when holding too long! Was not really a fan of the squareness either. Didn't want to deal with possibility of it getting stolen so since I originally went through Verizon, was able to return to a store. Even got my device dollars I used returned to my account, minus restocking fee which I was not thrilled about!! Waiting on 22+ green unlocked 256 delivery next week. Went with Samsung this time. Hopefully no delays with delivery!!

I would guess you are correct. I don't know for sure, but I remember my early days of cell phones when they were all purchased from one of the providers. Unlocked phones were not a big thing back, and when it they became popular I still shied away and went with a provider for the phone.
Now; never again. Unlocked forever.

But oneplus10? Interesting looking phone with some good specs. Not sure what the price would be in the USA now, believe it might be at the same price as the Pixel 6 series...but have not read any final info.

However, after I saw how easy it is to break it in half, and as a person who carries his phone in the rear pocket most of the warmer months; it wouldn't last longer than on trip in the truck.

Jerry Rig Everything did a test.

My previous S10+ was purchased from a Verizon store, since I needed a new phone ASAP. The LG V20 was incapable of making phone calls. I ended up needing Package Disabler Pro to disable all the bloatware that came from Verizon.

I'm completely happy with my new unlocked S22 Ultra from Samsung, since I had no Verizon bloatware, especially the preinstalled Facebook and all the Verizon apps. I'm keeping the unlocked firmware to avoid the carrier bloatware, and I don't need Package Disabler Pro any longer.

I’m gonna be that guy.. starting to wonder if I made the right decision and if this phone goes back.

Mine finally arrived yesterday - and I’ve been looking forward to it for days. Literally waiting.

Coming from an iPhone 13 Pro but as a former Samsung lover and frustrated iPhone owner.

And it’s the simple things that are just getting to me - Android related more than Samsung:

- I plugged my phone into my car this morning and fired up Android Auto.. couldn’t find TuneIn Radio to stream a radio station I listen to ALL the time (which I normally just fire up by hitting the ‘favorites’ tab on Apple CarPlay). Told Google Assistant to stream it and it said it was - but then nothing. Struggling to find a workaround here (I used an app called Global Player normally if TuneIn fails as it’s a Global station - but neither of them are on AA). Tried disconnecting my phone from CarPlay and just talking to GA normally, but same issue.

- Told my phone to make a WhatsApp audio call and was astounded that this STILL isn’t a thing! I use WhatsApp audio ALL the time. I have at least managed to get around this with Bixby, but it’s a bit of a crude solution. How can WhatsApp voice calls not be supported on Android but they are on iPhone which is way more closed down!?

The phone itself is beautiful - I got the white and it knocks spots off my iPhone in terms of design which just feels stale. But I’m definitely starting to feel a little ‘meh’ about it. Hoping that wears off.. Will give it a date or two.

I love my s22 Ultra but this thing is buggy. Camera wouldn't open for me today. Took two tries to get it to open. Things lag sometimes. Feel like I'm doing a restart every two days and I didn't have to do it that frequently on my s21 ultra. I went weeks without rebooting that. Have a lot of issues with Instagram. Won't load, crashes etc. Other apps do this as well. Kind of annoying.

Hoping the update (whenever it comes) fixes these issues. Also battery life seems subpar.

You might have a dud!!! Most of us don't have your issues. I would most definitely return yours if I was you.

I, too, suggest returning your phone. A brand-new device shouldn't lag or require so many reboots. Keep us posted on what happens!
