Buyer's remorse?

Zip, zero, zilch in the buyers remorse department. I am 100% satisfied with getting rid of my iPhone 7 Plus to get the regular sized 128GB Pixel. Best phone I've had.

I see some improvement on my connectivity issues with the new update and I am happy to get tap to wake but I should've swallowed my anger at Samsung for screwing up the best phone I ever have had, and gone with the 7 edge. I don't love the extreme edges, and it isn't the most commfortable phone to hold but the fast updates and the fast processor (which doesn't really seem faster than the Note 7 was to me) don't make up, for me, for the lack of features. I don't like the bezels, though I knew I didn't going in, but I don't. The camera is not to me anywhere near as good as the Note, and the 7edge is pretty close to the Note, and I will never get used to or like the fingerprint scanner being on the back. I want my sd card slot back, too. I don't hate the Pixel and I am stuck with it anyway, but it isn't worth the premium price. Again, this is just me. I am thrilled for all the people who are totally in love with the phone. I know how that feels.

I actually had a OnePlus 3 for a few months, and sold it when I got my Pixel (though I had both for a few days). The OP3 is the first "big" phone that I felt OK using, but it was still too large for my tastes.

The Pixel isn't perfect, but I prefer it to the OP3 by a fair amount. The OP3 has a PenTile 1080p display that I think is noticeably less sharp given it's 5.5" size (especially with text). What really killed me, though, was that by default, OnePlus has a really wonky DPI setting that meant that viewing the same webpage on the OP3 and my old Nexus 5X, I saw less text on the OP3 - despite them both being 1080p (and the OP3 being much larger!).

Reviews for the OP3 said the camera was "decent," but I found that the pictures it took were soft and smudgy, like an older cell phone, while the Pixel's are fantastic.

That, and the fact that despite getting better of late, there's no guarantee that OnePlus will have updates in a timely manner gives the Pixel enough advantages that I don't regret keeping it.

I think it's normal to feel some kind of buyer's remorse, especially after making a bigger purchase on a mobile device like the Pixel. Even if I do a ton of research on a phone, it often boils down to two choices and then I'm stuck in the middle. And sometimes I experience some regret over the phone I decided to buy.

My advice to you is to try not to worry about it (easier said than done, I know!) and, like you said, wait for your phone to come and then see what it's like. If you end up disliking it, then you can return it and get the 3T. :)

I feel the same way. Something about the Pixel. It just works and I don't care for bells and whistles with other phones anymore. I didn't use or care for them when I had those other features.

Ive had all the Samsung Galaxy phone since S6 and the Pixel is the best of them. The Samsung phones are really good, but once in awhile it would lag. I didnt mind it, till I got the Pixel phone. This is how it should be all the time. I have over 250 apps installed. Connected to a Gear S3 and its just smoooooth!! Fingerprint is a little slow, but I think its cause of the animation.

Just the best phone I've had, and I've had a bunch of them. It has never frozen on me requiring a re-boot. It is the right size, feels super and has a great display and battery life. To make it absolutely perfect, they should find a way to have front facing speakers and still keep the same size!!

The pixel is by far the smoothest (knock on wood) phone I've used to date. I can't get over it. A few software bugs here and there but it's expected. The hardware itself has been pretty solid since I've gotten it. The only way I can describe the phone is: butter. Also I'm glad I opted for the 128gb -- I'm already at 33gb used!

I had the Pixel 128gb and got rid of it. The software is great, but the camera with it's lens flare wasn't all that everyone claimed it was. I got the OnePlus 3T and haven't looked back. Anyone who says the 3T camera is poor hasn't used one. Pics and video look just fine and the price tag on a 128gb 3T is $400 less. And it will have Nougat by year's end.
How's the 3T's screen. I've always been worried that I'm not going to like it because of the lower resolution. 401ppi on a 5.5" seems kinds low to me. Also it's a pentile display. What do you think of it..?

Thanks for the info on the screen.

I've been using my pixel for about a day. Came from Nexus 5X. Like the pixel, don't like the price. The simple Google apps integration is what keeps me from straying to anyone else. It just works like it supposed to. I hated the LCD display on the 5X, so happy to have AMOLED back.

I've had 27+ smartphones going back to the BlackBerry 7100 series. I had buyers remorse for almost everyone for a small period of time. If you do your research and are a phone junkie like me, then you constantly buy the best stuff. So it's only natural when you make a change that you regret it until you really get into the new device. I recently went DTEK50, iPhone 7, DTEK60, Pixel in 6 weeks...just now live the Pixel and have settled in.

Retina display is ~300 ppi, with the iPhone 6 and 7 having the highest at 401 ppi. I don't think your eye is going to notice the difference.

I mean if there is a better android phone then you will have buyer's remorse. There is nothing better than pixel unless you are looking at iOS. iPhones and Pixels, rest all have their limitations. High end Samsung phones are also great if you don't care about constant stutters here and there in software, not latest upto date software and Samsung bending over back to carriers to cripple everything.

Best Android experience so far for me. It has been consistent and I only have Bluetooth issue with my Sony deck by connecting kind slow. But my other devices connected fairly solid. This phone just works. I'm done with all bells and whistles. I just want a phone that I know is gonna work throughout the day.

Anybody else suffered with buyer's remorse initially? Or do you still even after owning and using your Pixel? Despite it being a great phone do you feel you should have gone for something else?

I got a VZW Pixel for ~$275 on Black Friday. But since I'm not on post paid VZW service, where do I go if a hardware issue arises? For what I paid, it's not a huge issue but there's still buyers remorse.

Technically I did go for something besides the Pixel when I preordered a Galaxy Note 7 based on rumors of a lackluster Pixel IMO, but we all know how that turned out😥

My experience in dealing with Samsung's lack of infrastructure outside of carriers(I use MVNOs)
soured me on high $ Androids.

I don't think ANY android phone is worth the same $$ as the iPhone because they don't have a support system that doesn't involve carriers. Google only commits to 2 OS upgrades, while 4 year old iPhones get a version of latest iOS.
There's also the issue of the iPhone accessory market dwarfing all Androids.

Maybe one day, Google&OEMs get a support system as extensive as Apple Stores. Or commit to *maybe* 2 OS updates. Or get the depth of accessories like iPhones.

But until that day, Pixel and all flagship Android aren't 'worth' the same as an iPhone IMO. Especially with the rise in quality you can get at half the price.

"better" is relative to what you want in a phone. For instance, I can't use iPhone because it indeed limits you in customization. I can't use a pixel because it doesn't work with Bluetooth audio I my car. There are no perfect phones dude. There are only what works for you.

They are for millions of people dude !!!

Sorry didn't mean to hurt your feel bads with "dude". And back at you for millions who don't use them.. Chief. Lol!

Looks like you are the one hurting arguing in a pixel forum.. Lol

I'm doing great having the best phones like iPhone 7 plus, pixel XL and value phones like one plus 3T.
