Hey all, I'm not ready to pull the trigger yet, since I want to see what happens on Oct. 9th, but can anyone comment on buying a manufacturer refurb pixel 2 on Swappa? Does a Google refurb warranty pass to the new owner?

Anyone see a reason why these refurbs should be avoided?

You'd have to get the remaining warranty transferred from the original owner. Customer service will want IMEI, Google order # and original email used for purchase from Google. It's best if you can get the email receipt since they might want additional information.

Not sure, but there might be some reduced prices on new 2's. Maybe you've already checked?

All refurbs should be avoided.... you're basically buying someone else's returned junk. All most companies do is make sure the phone powers on. The whole "refurbished" term is highly abused. Do your research on people's experience with refurbs ;-)

Even refurbs from Google?

I am also waiting until October to see if there will be a price drop. Although I'm wanting a 1st Gen Pixel XL

I've purchases numerous refurbs over the years with absolutely no problems with any of the devices. Just be sure to buy from reputable places and you should be fine.

I believe that a lot of times refurbs are phones that were fine just the person didn't like it and returned it, or maybe there was an easy fix and its fine. It's a lottery really, but one thing I would not do is get a refurb from Swappa. I would rather go with one from a company that will offer a warranty just to keep you covered.
