Buying DROID2 from Amazon vs. Verizon?

Has anyone here had any experience buying their new device from Amazon online vs. directly from VZW? Reason I ask: Amazon is offering the DROID2 with a 2-yr contract for $99 bucks. VZW online wants double that, $199. I am a long-time VZW customer and eligible for an upgrade on 9/6. Is there any reason why I wouldn't deal with Amazon and save the hundred bucks?

Would VZW deal with me ref the price match and tell me take a hike?

If you have the new every 2 next week they will deduct another 100 I beleive as that is what it shows on mine since mine is due today and just checked and they are giving me another 100 off the price so my total is 99 bucks for any of the top 3 phones, now I just need to figure out which one i want.

it only benefits new customers really, or if you not want to wait for a rebate in the mail. I got my incredible for $99 back when it was released on amazon. The only difference is that amazon has its own early termination ($250) fee on top of verizons ($375). Thats how they offer lower prices.
