Buying music from phone and having it stored directly onto device

Spending a lot of time on the road traveling has made me realize that cloud storage for music (Google Play Music) is just not going to work for me. The service has been nothing but unreliable since I started using this phone. Even 'pinned' music doesn't play correctly.

So I've finally started putting a bit of my library onto the phone itself. However, since most of my music purchases are impulse buys while at work, sitting on the couch, or in bed, and not on a computer, I'd like to find out if any service allows you to buy music and store it directly onto the phone.

I know the Google Play Store uploads it to the cloud, then you can download it onto a computer, and put it on the phone yourself. That's too many steps.

I'd really just like something that works similar to purchasing music from iTunes from your iPhone. Does that functionality exist on the Android platform?

Not sure if this is possible but maybe you can buy it from iTunes then click and drag it onto your phone after plugging it into the PC?
Edit: Nevermind just tried it and it won't let me click and drag the MP3s.

I'm basically trying to cut the PC out of the process altogether. If I never had to plug the phone into a computer again, I'd be perfectly happy.

Download the android transfer software and simply drag and drop from iTunes music folder from hard drive to phone. Extremely easy.

Amazon MP3 allows you to download songs directly from your cloud to your phone, and you can upload songs from your computer directly to your cloud storage.

Another vote for Amazon. There's an app that'll let you browse the store and download directly to your device. The app also lets you browse your cloud locker for tracks that you've uploaded yourself. Plus it has "AutoRip" which lets you download tracks from any physical media (CDs or records) you purchased on Amazon. Music downloaded to your phone works with any standard Android mp3 player.

But with Amazon MP3 do I still have to play those songs through the Amazon player, or will they be available through the stock Google player or any other music player app?

All music files from Amazon come as standard MP3 files with no DRM. They can be played by anything that will play MP3 files.
