buying the evo 3d - long lines today (launch day)?

If we want to wait in line then maybe we should tell HTC to open a store only for HTC stuff. I mean think about how many apple stores are around where you live. I live in Miami, FL and maybe within 60 miles I have 4 apple stores. I didn't even buy my Evo 3D from the store, I order it online the 21st and got it the 22nd. :D

The Sprint store across the street from my hotel was a ghost town...I should've went inside after I came back to my hotel to check out the cases but was too busy...

when i got to my local store today there were about 10 people in line, this was around 745 for the 800 open, i was out by 845. i have a friend that works there and he told me they sold 61 evo 3ds today and only half was pre orders. he also told me they had 65 pre orders but had spread the pick ups out over the week end to make sure that had phones for walk in.

No one at my kiosk at the mall when I got there at 8:45. He said there were only a few preorders and they had about 15 in stock.

Walked in at 8:30am this morning (30 minutes after they opened) and waited ~15 minutes to be helped. Walked out 15 minutes later with my new EVO 3D. Couldn't have been easier. No lines, no frustrations.

I certainly don't miss being an Apple user on days like today.

I was the only customer in the store when I was in there, they said at 10:30 they hadn't sold any. I didn't get one. I couldn't part with my current EVO.

I went to the 'busy' sprint store in NYC right on broadway by wall st.

They summoned all 15~ employees for today and wore Evo 3D t-shirt, ready to tackle on the craze.....

Too bad store was barely busier than usual. They had about 7 customers at max and only 2-3 were looking at Evo 3D.

I asked the rep about how busy it's been. He said not much at all, especially compared to original Evo release dat.e

I pre-ordered at ny local best buy and I was the only one there at 8am. Someone came in about five minutes later, and I'm pretty sure he was just an off duty employee. Kinda surprised, but hey, it made for a quick, painless transaction.

They were dressed the same at my store too. By the time I arrived there was a wait, but they were mostly for other business. I just walked in and a rep was waiting for my appt. However most of the free EVO 3D swag was almost gone.

I didn't realize my local Sprint store was opening at 8 a.m...I arrived at 10 (their normal opening) and walked out less than 10 min later with the 3D. This store rec'd 15 and had 5 left when I got there.
