Someone here recommended Rakuten for purchases. Well I am here to just say that website is a complete scam. I did get money for S21U purchase (although not even sure yet because they haven't transferred it to my account still) but for all other purchases they just scammed me without any response from support.

Been using them for years with no issues for cash back especially when making large purchases such as via Samsung. You get the money deposited into your PayPal account quarterly via the "big fat check" it's not an instant process but it's still "free" money.

Rakuten used to be Buy.com. Their site is pretty clunky in my opinion, but they're a legit site, so I doubt you're a victim of a scam. Does BigMosley's explanation help?

I bought my S21 Ultra on the Samsung site through the Rakuten app. It definitely cut down on the price I paid with the cashback they gave me.

When I bought my S21U in January using Rakuten, they initially credited me with just 2% back for the purchase. But when I contacted their customer support, they promptly credited the correct amount, $64, which I just now received in PayPal (Rakuten is upfront that it takes months before you actually receive the cash).

Good point on this. Sometimes you have to stay on Rakuten to make sure they credit you the proper cashback amount.

They are good with helping on purchases that didn't register a cash back... I've had multiple occasions and they resolved it... Depending the browser you use for shopping I suggest adding the Rakuten extention.. So once you hit a website with cash back available it pops up and you have better chance less issues on shopping trip... I've received close to $700 back on my PayPal...

Agreed about Rakuten usually being pretty good about crediting you cashback for purchases that don't originally register with them.

Looks like I’m in for an issue possibly? I just ordered an s21U direct from Samsung USA. I got an immediate text message from Bank of America stating the amount was declined but to try again after typing in YES and to order again. I cancelled that order within minutes of getting that text as it was declined by my bank. I duly placed another order which appears to have been successfully accepted by my bank. So what will I expect to happen on the Rakuten cashback side of things now ?

On a side note, they offered me $30 for my first purchase also. Will this be $30 plus my cashback amount ? Thanks.

Never had an issue with them. Most of the time an issue they give anyway. The reason they don't give if say Dell can't verify is because Dell pays them and then they pay you. If Dell doesn't verify they don't pay Rak. They aren't doing it to lose money.

Hard to say, do you use the browser extension or do you normally go to Rakuten then click on Samsung? One thing you can check is look at "Shopping Trips" and see if you have an entry for both visits to Samsung...if only the first one is there you may have an issue. If order time is very close, if they don't give, click on Missing Cash and send order info. They will see shopping trip and order and may give anyway.

Whenever you cancel an order and then go back to redo new order.. Always make sure to hit Rakuten once you have items on cart.. I find that way you guarantee it hitting..

I just ordered adjustable bed frame from Nectar and there's 15% rebate.. Got email from Rakuten it will post in my activity within the week...
