Bye G3, hello S6 Edge

Lol do you know anything about phones? Every single THING is better on the s6 edge other than the g3 has a slightly bigger screen & maybe the UI is better in some peoples opinions.

I am also waiting for the new nexus phone or the new Moto x. However I don't think Motorola is gonna blown me away but the nexus later this year might 😏, If so I'll get it. I update my phone every 4-6 months so I'm interested to see what comes

Well it's my opinion. I think LG G3 is better. Yes I know a lot about phones, owning at the moment my LG G3.,NOTE 4 and nexus 5.

And the screen has 577 pixels with a super AMOLED display, where as the G3 only has around 510 pixels and has the old LCD technology.

These technologies are not old. These are both about the same age, actually. 2009/2010

I didn't mean old technology like its a dinosaur, I was implementing that all new phones should use Super AMOLED screens instead of lcd

But why? "Because it's old technology" was your reason, but it is not the case.

The s6 does look like a beast. I did have high hoped for samsung since im a die hard fan. I went to the g3 for a more premium device vs the galaxy phones. What pushed me away from the s6 is no sd card and more importantly no removable battery. Im like you and root all my phones. What if something happens like a boot loop and you need to pull the battery? That alone is enough for me not to get it. I hope the g4 keeps the removable battery. Isc if it means another plastic phone. Plastic is cheaper and lighter. I put a spigen slim armor on all my phones anyways.

I think the S6 seems like a nice little phone ;) - the enclosed small battery would just kill me (it's why I eliminated the Moto X 2014 from my short list). Personally, I'd go for a Note 4 instead - still get the big screen (and a real nice one) and some actually useful Samsung add-ons. Being enclosed (in glass) and the small battery just takes int down a notch even though the screen seems fantastic, the camera seems excellent and the chips seem to be performing very well. Wouldn't throw one out of bed for eating crackers.

Colors are more vivid, blacks and whites are also richer. It usually has better viewing angles as well. And color accuracy is what I look for too because I'm a photographer

To raise just a small debate about lcd and super amoled sure it is a nice looking display but that is really user preference, I personally have used both and I prefer lcd display. It is my experience that in outdoor light lcd is easier to see and the viewing angles are much better. Also with my g3 I can always adjust the color settings and saturate a little more if I want to. Reviews I have been seeing today are saying that battery life on the galaxy s6 is average at best, I just do not believe that it is going to be better than the g3. Smaller battery and more pixels than the g3 to push, I think people are going to be disappointed with that aspect of the s6, maybe I am wrong but we will see. I truly do hope that it is good because I have to get one for my wife, and she will not be a happy camper if the battery life is not good.

I can agree. I've used both but haven't used the newest Samsung SAMOLED panels (which seem to be better looking than the older ones) as much so my opinion may change. I prefer the look of LCD on a smartphone.

mAh for mAh, the S6 easily beats the G3 in battery life.. But I'm disappointed in the manufacturer putting in such a small battery. Although this makes sense as they can cut costs while selling you a more expensive "Active" model (or something like that) with a larger battery in it. Either way I haven't seen any battery tests yet to compare with the G3. Most of the G3 battery tests are running stock firmware with no tweaks which makes it very hard to compare. You can get a lot out of battery life by tweaking, and every phone if different in that respect.

I agree that its preference... If you look at this side by side comparison (attachment) of the S6 edge and the G3 it is completely clear who the winner is though, The G3 looks yellowish as the edge is more of a vivid white. That screenshot was a raw untouched picture. Like I mentioned earlier the colors are just richer and the blacks are deeper with the super amoled. That's why all the new TV's come with that technology as well. The really only thing that matters is that you love your own phone. lol

I've never had any luck with anything that had the word Samsung on it. Good Luck. I'll happily stick with my G3.

I'm waiting as to what LG can come up with the G4, other than that I'm sticking with my G3 as well.

If you go on YouTube and check out Erica griffins video of the galaxy s6 edge she talks about how on the display, both edges that there is a color run, it has a bluish green color to it. Could be just the unit she was using, but it was noted that the s6 did not have that same problem.

Another reason I will stick with my g3 is all the glass, way to much glass on that baby. I remember my optimus g and how much of a pain it was handling that phone, not to mention how it is going to be a complete fingerprint magnet. Just a scary feeling having a device with that much glass. And I am the type that does not like to use cases.

If the S6 is just a bit better than the G3, then wait til the G4 drops. In my opinion, S6 should have waited a bit longer, competition is gonna be tough with better phones dropping later. I got my eyes on the HTC M9 and of course the LG G4

I tried the M8 last year. HATED IT! Keep in mind, I had a Dinc that I loved. My Dinc stayed with me longer than any other phone I've had so I like HTC, but I hated the M8. Screen was waaaaay too small. Camera was the worse I'd had in a long time. Also, I never got use to the new HTC Sense. I liked Sense on Gingerbread, but I think the new Sense has lost it's luster. Needless to say, I'm not even considering the M9.

I have owned tooo many Samsung devices to be lured in again. The Hardware and Software of previously owned Samsh#t could not be tolerated, and faith in this industry was restored in the LG G2. I believe LG enjoys the David and Goliath position, and the stone to Samsung's forehead was the G3! I have all the patience I need to wait on the G4, and I am still on KitKat 4.4.2! The screen is the window to the device's soul, and the G3 has all the beauty I need.

How are you guys doing..
I have a LG G3, and it's great in my opinion... The specs are very important to me, as for the qualify (casing) of the phone. In my opinion, it all depends on what you guys use the phone for..... Love my phone, if any upgrade, it will be the LG G4.
