Since last verizon update my calander icon doesn't update to the current date but just shows Mon the 30th. Any idea how to fix it?

Is that your stock/default launcher. When I used Themer, my home icons never updated unless I did so manually.

Yes it's the stock one. It would usually update everyday, but now it just doesn't.

mine is stuck on 23 ... has never changed since I got the phone in November 2016, on M or now on N - but did change when I updated to N. Using the stock calendar app and stock launcher
