This has happened 3 times so far, I would launch the calculator, start typing a few numbers then when I hit the multiply sign, the calcuclator just force closes.

Any ideas?

Here is my model info:

AP: G930FXXU1APD1
CP: G930FXXU1APD1
CSC: G930FOJV1APD1
Model: SM-G930F

I was in the middle of a conversation and needed to calculate something, this sucks that I can't perform such basic operations on this phone when I most need it.

PS: I did a factory reset after the latest security patch update by the way.

1. Remove the external SDcard from your Android device if you have already.

2. Go to Settings → Backup & Reset.

3. Here you can find the Factory Reset button, tap on it and confirm the to factory reset the phone.
It will wipe out all the data from the phone including your data and cache etc.
This method should to fix the force closing issue, if not then head over to second solution
.
4. First, install the latest custom recovery like CWM or TWRP recovery on your device.

5. Finally, tap on Factory Reset to perform.
This method will only Refresh the Firmware and Erase the Cache and the other data will be saved.
I hope that these two solutions will resolve the Force Close Android Apps Error on your Android phone but the both methods doesn’t work and still you have the same problem then it is recommended to flash the stock or any Custom Firmware to solve this problem without any doubt.

Holy overkill..... Why on earth would you install a custom recovery to fix a calculator app from crashing???
Download the update to the calculator app from Samsung's app store and see if that fixes it. That's the first easy thing to try.
