Verizon Galaxy S8 Calendar Alert...NOT Alerting

I've had my S8+ a little over a week. I rely on my calender for many many events per day. However, it doesn't play the alerts. The event will show up on the screen like normal, but the alert doesn't sound. I've seen via Google that others have had this issue with the S8/S8+ and previous models, yet I saw no resolutions. If anyone can help, I'd be absolutely grateful.

Mine working fine. Verizon. Double check your settings. Make sure it's syncd with the right email account and alerts are on and volume is up. Also make sure there is a tone assigned to the alert.

I had this issue. My calander stopped working at all. Nothing would save, nothing would show, nothing would sound. Checked my Google settings and fixed it that way.
