Calendar events popping up after restart...

I've had my Note 4 a while (hehe, get it? 4...).

For a while I was using Google Calendar, but recently I accidentally clicked myself into Samsung's stock calendar and noticed how much more featurerich it was compared to Googles (though the UI sucks..) and started using it instead.

However, there's this annoying bug that gives me old reminders every time I turn on my phone. See the attached image.

How do I fix this without clearing data?

Well you probably want to decide which app you want to notify you of events on your Google calendar and turn off notifications in the other calendar app.

I use the Samsung Calendar app to enter events into my Google calendar because I am used to its user interface. But I also have the Google Calendar app installed because I like its widget. Since I don't want to receive two notification for each Google calendar event, I turned off notify on this device in the settings of the Google Calendar app.
