I have my work email on my phone and am a able to synce contacts. However, my calender is not syncing. Settings are to sync email and calender.

The only calender I have is the google one...and there is nothing in it.

Any ideas?

My EVO died the other day and Sprint upgraded me to the Nexus S. Only problem is the Nexus S and/or Android 2.3.4 does not support Activesync for MS Exchange. Bottom line is that I have no access to my company email anymore making the phone just about worthless. The EVO with Android 2.2 worked like a charm with Activesync. I'm going to see if the EVO 3D works with Activesync...if not then it is a Google issue with the latest OS.

I use exchange for my work email, calendar, and contacts... It works flawlessly on my Nexus S. Not sure what you mean by saying that 2.3.4 doesn't work with exchange.

AFAIK, you can't sync Exchange calendar with Google calendar, unless you install Google Cal Sync on the computer that has Outlook installed. You can also purchase Touchdown or Moxier Mail, but you would have to use their Calendar widget, not Google's calendar.

The message I get after entering the required server information is "Setup could not finish. This server requires security features that your phone does not support".

It's weird. My old EVO with 2.2 had no problems. I went to the Sprint store and they basically told me the same thing.

I have an exchange email, calendar, and contacts all synced without an issue. You're enterprise data security team or windows server engineering team probably forces an exchange active sync policy not natively supported by Android. HTC uses their own mail client so they may support some policies that vanilla android doesn't.

Appreciate the info. Thanks.

I did just talk with someone here in our office that just got the 2.3.3 upgrade on their EVO and now they do not have Exchange access.

I am running a different ROM on an EPIC but its base is 2.3 and my calendar is not working with exchange server. When our server guys tried to troubleshoot it with me they hinted at a problem on their end and needing to update some software.

FYI....

I did some experimenting.....

Even though... when I set up the nexus s the first time, I entered the gmail account information, the nexus s did not show gmail as a seperate email account in my "accounts" listing under email. I asked Sprint 3 level support and of course they had no idea.

So...here is what I did.
I had 3 email accounts.....hotmail, yahoo, my work (via exchange)....and the not listed gmail which I used when I setup the phone. (so I guess that is 4....maybe?)

I went ahead and added a new account.....Gmail. (same user name and password) but then in the options tap, I selected my exchange (work) email as the default account and set it to sync for calendar and email. WALA.....my gmail calender then started showing all my appointments from my exchange work email and even better....I didn't have to include any personal meetings.

So, it works as I need it to now.....no personal appointments in my calender (company can not see what I am doing) ...my calendar only shows my work exchange outlook calendar appointments. Why this is not detailed somewhere else is beyond me.

ps...I did download Jorte (free) calender just because I like it better then the default gmail calender that google provides....but both or either will work.

This may sound odd, but it worked on my HTC Incredible when I had the exact same thing happen...email and contact sync'd fine, but calendar gave an error. Change the default settings, such has how many calendar items it syncs. I changed it to "all items" and everything started working beautifully. Don't know why, don't care either.
