Call log question

Idk if its a touchwiz or samsung thing. I had the Epic last yr for about a month and it was the same but I never downloaded a laucher to see if it was touchwiz. But is there a way to get rid of duplicate recent calls in the call log? Like if my last 5 calls were all to my wife in the call log it would show 5 times rather than just once. I think I explained that good. Im just use to HTC for the past 3 yrs with the Hero, Evo, Evo 3D, so its not a big deal. I just hope there is a way to see just one showing on the call rather than each and single one incoming and outgoing

Yeah I was wondering about that too! Like instead of seeing 20 outgoing and incoming calls on the log, can't there be a way of just combining them into a list for the same contact?

Oh and not only that, but is there a way to not show the text messages in the log? I figured it's the Dialer app, for making calls so I thought the log would just show the phone calls but instead it shows every call AND text.

Go to settings in the call log menu and select all calls instead of all logs

I just did that and it didnt change it. I just made 3 calls in a row to my wifes phone just to see and yep all 3 calls show up. I went to the logs, then menu, then view by all voice calls, logs, missed calls, etc and I selected all calls but nope didnt change

How about call duration for each call? I find that helpful sometimes when I forget a nunber. I can remeber by when I made the call and how long!

I think he was replying to me about seeing the text messages show up in the log. And even then that's only temporary. If you close the Dialer or restart the phone, the next time you use Dialer again it reverts back to showing the log of everything, voice and text (and yeah, every instance regardless of contact).

It's looking like it's just not possible.
