Call me crazy but like Moto over Incredible

I, too, am not a fan of the Incredible. It felt cheap and plasticy in the hand and Sense may not be for me. I'll keep my upgrade for now. Also, Froyo will most likely come to the Droid first.

i'm not a fan of the Incredible. I'm also not a fan of HTC Products in general though...my wife's Eris was HORRIBLE and we went through 3 of them in 2 months-before Verizon finally got sick of me calling, and they sent her a Droid (Certified Like New Droid, but a Droid nonetheless).

Plus, once you root your Droid, set it at 1.2ghz-the speed of the Incredib-meh isn't really different at all. :) oh, and the Droid doesn't drop the OTA activation call too, thats one thing that Droid Doesn't, Incredible Does.

The droid at 1.2 is not the same. Use navigation for 30 minutes on it. You will fry your chip ;)

I don't care for the Incredible at all. I just switched from CM to BBV1 and my Droid runs as smooth as butter. I also found out that animations can get sped up by toggling with some settings in Spare Parts. I've never played with an Incredible but judging by what I've seen in videos, it doesn't really beat my Droid.

Pretty crazy the amount of applications people have installed on their device. I guess my lengthy background in BlackBerry's with limited memory has lead me to be good with management, and app selection, so I don't keep things that I am not using frequently.

Me too. I do, however, keep a folder on my SD card with the .apk's of a bunch of apps that I MAY want to install again on short notice. That's why I love root ... I can just use Root Explorer to copy the file to my SD card before I uninstall. :-) All of the apps, none of the space issue!

I have the Droid (bought on the first day) that I just rooted and am running Cyanogen with the 800mhz kernel and smokedglass-esque theme. I am loving it! I have 50 or more apps and still have plenty of memory. I only keep what I use or paid for =)

I bought my wife the Incredible (on the first day in the store) and she loves it despite not having a physical keyboard that she thought she could live without.

I have a good friend with a Droid and another with an Eris. They both love their devices.

I guess my point is that each person has his/her own preferences and the thing I love about the Android OS is that there are devices for everyone... not a cookie-cutter approach.

That is the beauty of android. You have a multitude of devices and all are quite different. Makes for some great options.

Okay, this is getting old. The Motorola is the second best Android out right now. End of story. The Incredible is just a better phone right now...right now....keep that in mind. Say what you will about the overclocking and such, I did that when I had my Motorola and the Incredible is just faster in all areas. It's not even an arguement so why do people keep posting these opinions? Bottom line is that if 100 people were to walk into a Verizon Store and look at both phones, 99 of them would walk out with the Incredible. Lets give HTC due credit and move on and enjoy your Motorola and HTC while they are hot.

If it's not memory we bitch about, it's the camera, if it's not the camera, it's the storage capacity, if it's to hard to see in the sunlight, whatever we come up with, no phone will ever get the top billing as the perfect phone.

Facts are facts and the Incredible is getting consistant reviews across the board so lets be fair about that and acknowledge that those reviews are not all biased.

Lets drop the battery being weak, that is getting old real fast. The more powerful these phones get, the more juice you will use. It's that simple my friends.

Wow oh wow, where do I even begin.

1. How conceited can you be that you believe that your opinion is the only one that is valid and that is exactly what this is, an OPINION.

2. The Incredible is superior in technical aspects (processor, memory, screen, flash light, camera)

3. Moto Droid is superior in others (build quality, battery life, rooted).

4. Some areas are not cut and dry, and thus the USERS OPINION (ie Sense UI VS Stock Android)

5. The sentiment that they like the Droid better is a valid opinion and you have no right to tell them that it is not.

6. Your statistic is flawed, even on these forums there are more than 1:100 people who would like the Droid better. As stated above that is their right. If what you say is true then stores would not even be displaying the Droid anymore because everyone would be buying Incredibles, I was just in a store the other day and I can assure you that is not the case.

7. Moto Droid got consistent positive ratings last winter when it came out too so that point is meaningless

Now, as for myself, I like them both and use them differently, right now I find myself using the Incredible more, but next month I could feel that way about the Droid (for example when it gets 2.2 before the Incredible). Who knows.

Both phones are amazing devices and someone saying they prefer the Moto Droid does not diminish that.

I agree with you, the Motorola is a fantastic phone. It still pisses me off when I read back the original reviews of that phone. It just gets a bit annoying on how we people were picky about the Moto keyboard, camera, whatever. I have had the Motorola since day one and it's way up on my list of phones. In fact, if I could make sense of carrying around two phones, it would be in my pocket right now.

:)

I like how you used the word "facts"

I think you mean; "opinions"

Also, thanks for this post, it made me laugh.

Also, as far as speed, I have ran benchmarks with my rooted at 1250mhz and it Beat Incredible benchmarks. I will not say one us better than the other. I like Htc interface, but still love my Droid.

this is an interesting thread... I've had a droid since day one and don't see any reason to switch. i do find i have to delete apps to free up space for CM roms, but i was deleting them anyway cuz i didn't use them. i go back and forth on the keyboard. i've been using it a lot recently. i do like the incredible's screen! so pretty.

my only complaint was that it felt like toy when i held them side by side. bottom line (like others have stated), android is growing and offering so many options! i may yet convince my wife to get a smartphone...

Very interesting.
Coming from BB, each device was the same design, just switching resolution and some button locations and memory.
I like that Android has a few options and many more coming.
