At first I was thinking it had to be the area I was in... but after repeated issue trying to make calls and having problems trying to communicate, I do believe my Moto Doid is defective.:(

Oddly enough when I use my BT (JawBone Prime), I don't have these problems.

I must say as a first time Verizon customer, the call clarity, quality, and reliability are the best I have experienced in 6 years! Needless to say the last 6 years I was with Sprint for 2 years and Nextel for 4.

Since I joined VZW and got the Droid on 11/6 I have not experienced 1 drop call and call clarity have been excellent! This includes talking to people who are on AT&T and Nextel.

Call quality has been great for me. The only dropped call I've experienced was with my wife's phone on AT&T. I can't wait for her contract to expire...

Call quality has been amazing as I have expected. I can't remember the last time I've had a dropped call on Verizon, it's been a very long time.

I haven't had any issues with dropped calls either, but the listening and speech (my voice) quality on this phone have been horrible. I've been with Verizon for 10 years and have never had issues like this.

call quality is great and i live in the boondocks of arkansas. "squeeeel like a pig for me" lol. actually im from minnesota.

I have had no problems with that aspect, as I do test a lot of devices as a part of something I do as a side job.

So far the call quality is great. Much better than my storm 1 and ten times better than AT&T's iPhone (4 months and tons of dropped calls). Before the storm never had a dropped call and I'm thinking that will continue now that I have a droid.

Besides having to figure out how to correctly hold the phone since im so used to flip phones ive had no problems with my quality of calls on both ends.

My calls aren't necessarily dropped calls, but broken and indistinguishable at times.

But yet again, this seems to only happen when I'm in a mall or around any place with microwave transceivers.
So I'd mostly put the blame on my surroundings.

It just gets bothersome after a while. :/

Soobs, is it also an issue when you use a BT headset or ONLY thru the phone's mic?

I have never used bluetooth.

See if you can try it with a BT headset. Can you borrow a friends just to test out? This way we can confirm it is hardware and NOT a software issue. I mean, IF it works fine with a headset and has a glitch with the embedded mic, then you know for sure its hardware related.

I am on the road right now with work for the next couple days, but I could try a friend's Bluetooth when I get home; however, with so many people having no issue at all I am probably just going to exchange it.

You never know, its possible you might have a defective unit. Try it first before you exchange it and also keep track so that you don't run over the thirty day limit

No dropped calls or anything like that for me...but my voice quality got much better when I changed the vocode
