I have been trying to find a phone recorder for my Samsung S7. I had one on my S5 but that one does not work on my new phone. Has anyone found an application that works on the S7 that records both sides of the call?

Almost no recorders work well because it's difficult to get the incoming audio. (I'd be interested in which one you found satisfactory on your S5.)

The problem with recording is with the US version of Marshmallow. Until the OS is updated to fix the issue, no recorder will work correctly (in the US). Really a bummer because I used Automatic Call Recorder a lot with our business.

No, not in the ios or android ecosystem.

Although this doesn't help you, it should be noted that Windows phone 10 has this feature baked into the WP10 OS and it works flawlessly. SO it can be done.

I used ACR, by NLL Apps (found in the Google Play Store) for nearly two years on my S5 and it worked flawlessly. Galaxyfive must have missed my post above :( Until a day or two ago, it wouldn't work with my (US version) S7 due to Marshmallow. But, the developer has come up with a combination of settings (different for different phones) and now it works again!!! You just answer 3 questions about your phone the app applies the correct settings.

ACR was causing the crackling speaker issue with my s7. Took it out and no more issues. Sad, I really need to record my conversations.

ACR is not a real solution I'm afraid. As noted in my original post WP10 is the only os with this feature at this time.

OK, maybe I'm not understanding something. The OP wants a call recorder that records both sides of the conversation. He had that on this S5. So did I. It recorded both sides of the conversation. I used it daily.
It didn't work on the S7. The developer said it was a Marshmallow problem. I uninstalled it. I've recently reinstalled it and it's working (recording both sides of the conversation) using the settings outlined by the developer.
So why isn't ACR a real solution? Have you tried it with your S7?
I have recorded and kept 12 calls since reinstalling ACR two days ago. Eleven of them are loud and clear. One, I can be heard fine but I had to put the speaker to my ear to hear the other party. I have no idea why.
I don't understand why you insist that WP 10 is the only os has this feature enabled.

I think you are misunderstanding my message.

Windows 10 mobile has the call record feature built into the OS. I'm not aware of any other mobile platform that has this feature built in. I'm aware of 3rd party apps that are LOADED into the OS to achieve similar results, but alas as you have found out for yourself 3rd party apps are not reliable.

I'm not trying to promote one OS over the other, but in this instance my guess is that Windows 10 mobile call record is reliable because it's done in a way that only a device manufacturer that has total control over the hardware and firmware build along with the OS can provide..

Got it! Thanks for the explanation.

If anyone has tried ACR with the new settings that the developer sets for your specific phone and OS, would you please let us know if it's working for you? It's working great on my S7 :)
