Yeah, I suppose technically, most of the things mentioned in that other thread aren't exactly 100% free. I don't care so much about having an incoming number, and it's true that with Skype, it does cost a bit to get yourself one. Still, 2 cent a minute nationwide calls.. Beats the pants off using a payphone. =D
I havn't checked out Textplus, or google voice. I know it's exceptionally silly, that I'm using an android device, yet try to avoid using anything Google, if I don't have to. I'm mostly in it for the free texting, since for whatever reason, my friends will reply to texts a lot more often than they'll answer their dang phone.
Before the last few updates from Pinger broke its functionality, I actually was using textfree on my Nook Touch. Bwahah, texting on an e-ink reader.. I felt like a mad scientist.
