Camera accessory for Gear S

So, dprids, I assume that now since you are aware of the specifications of the Gear S, you have ordered the Gear 2 w/camera that has been out for awhile now. Or do you mean that you expect a future version of the Gear S to come out with a camera, which may, or may not be in the works? Either way, good luck.

I think I am going to wait for Gear solo V2, maybe it will have camera. I will look into Gear 2, but I was looking forward to GPS for tracking runs outside. Thanks for pointing me to that watch though.

If you are a runner skip the s and get the right tool... 920xt or fenix 2.

In the meantime, myself and a zillion other SATISFIED + HAPPY users of the Gear S, will be tooling along with a LOCKED GRIN at the sheer wonder of the Galaxy Gear S!!

I work in an IT dept. for a large institution, and I can imagine the response we would issue for a request for a watch with a camera on it. :D:D

The Garmin watches are great for endurance sports. But I wouldn't consider them in the same category as the Gear S. IMHO I wouldn't wear the Garmin day to day.

By the same token if I was seriously training I don't think the Gear S would replace my Garmin. For running it might, but certainly not for swimming and at this point I haven't seen any support for power meters or speed/cadence sensors so I wouldn't use it for serious bike training.

Does anyone know if the S supports ANT+?

I am siding with the minority here.

The reason why I got the Gear S is that I am sick of carrying my phone when I go trail running. I need the phone for safety reasons, but also need a way to track my runs, and an MP3 player. There are no higher end phones at a small enough size on the market, other than maybe yesteryear's iPhone S5, so it was either that or the Gear S.
It will however be hard not to have a camera (I run past breathtakingly beautiful places), and last night was the first time in years that I looked for compact digital cameras on Amazon: sadly, nothing much has changed in the past years, they a still very large :(

I hope the next iteration of the Gear S will have a good built in camera. Or a camera accessory, as the OP said.

For the time being, I may take my iPod Touch on runs, so I have at least some camera and the Audible/Overdrive apps. Wish they had Tizen versions of them.

A picture is worth a thousand words :D
